Approach to Sarabhanga’s Hermitage and the Vision of Indra
एतद्दि किल देवानां वयो भवति नित्यदा।यथेमे पुरुषव्याघ्रा दृश्यन्ते प्रियदर्शनाः।।3.5.18।।
etad dhi kila devānāṃ vayo bhavati nityadā |
yatheme puruṣavyāghrā dṛśyante priyadarśanāḥ || 3.5.18 ||
แท้จริงกล่าวกันว่าวัยของเหล่าเทวะเป็นเช่นนี้เสมอ มิแปรผัน; เพราะบุรุษดุจพยัคฆ์เหล่านี้ปรากฏเป็นหนุ่มนิรันดร์และงดงามน่าชม
These tigers among men have cheerful countenacess from which it can be deduced that the age of the gods always remains constant.
Dharma includes reverence for cosmic order: Rama recognizes a sign of the divine (unchanging youth) and interprets it without arrogance, aligning human action with a larger moral universe.
Rama infers from the attendants’ radiant, constant youth that they belong to the divine sphere (a deva-associated retinue).
Humility and insight—Rama reads extraordinary signs carefully and respectfully.
