एवमस्मि तदा मुक्तः कथञ्चित्तेन संयुगे।इदानीमपि यद्वृत्तं तच्छृणुष्व निरुत्तरम्।।।।
evam asmi tadā muktaḥ kathañcit tena saṅyuge | idānīm api yad vṛttaṁ tac chṛṇuṣva niruttaram ||
ครั้งนั้นในสนามรบ ข้าพเจ้าได้รอดพ้นจากเขาอย่างใดอย่างหนึ่ง; และบัดนี้ด้วย จงฟังเถิด—โดยมิให้ขาดตอน—ถึงเหตุการณ์ที่เพิ่งเกิดขึ้น
