मार्कंडेय उवाच । कथयिष्यामि ते वत्स तीर्थयात्राविधिक्रमम् । यो गच्छेतकुरुश्रेष्ठ प्रयागं देवसंयुतम्

มารกันเฑยะกล่าวว่า “ดูลูกรัก เราจักบอกวิธีและลำดับแห่งการจาริกสู่ทีรถะอันศักดิ์สิทธิ์ให้เจ้า โอ้ผู้ประเสริฐแห่งวงศ์กุรุ ผู้ใดไปยังประยาคะซึ่งมีเหล่าเทวะรายล้อม ย่อมได้บุญใหญ่”
