The Origin and Worship of Bhauma
Mars/Lohitāṅga
yathāsukhaṃ ca gacchadhvaṃ kṛtakṛtyā mamājñayā | brahmovāca | evaṃ viśrāvya bhagavānvyāsaḥ satyavatīsutaḥ
Brahmā (with a narrative continuation mentioning Vyāsa)
Primary Rasa: shanta
Sandhi Resolution Notes:
It conveys closure and permission: Brahmā declares the listeners’ duty complete under his command and dismisses them to depart freely.
“Satyavatī-suta” refers to Vyāsa, traditionally identified as the son of Satyavatī (and Parāśara), and a central redactor/teacher figure in Purāṇic tradition.
It highlights disciplined completion of one’s assigned responsibility—acting under rightful instruction and then letting go without clinging, once the duty is done.
