The sage (muniḥ) speaking to the Śabalāśvās (contextually a Prajāpati/creator-sage within the creation narrative)

Concept: Creation proceeds through disciplined hearing (śravaṇa) and obedience to enlightened guidance; even creators require instruction.

Application: Before acting, assemble the ‘inner faculties’ (intentions, skills, resources) and take counsel from a wise guide; repeat instruction is not redundancy but refinement.

FAQs

They are a named group assembled for sṛṣṭi-karma (creation-related activity). In Purāṇic creation narratives, such groups often function as progenitors or participants in the unfolding of creation.

Nārada is frequently portrayed as a catalyst in Purāṇic stories—guiding, redirecting, or testing beings involved in worldly duties. The verse notes that the group’s alignment is with Nārada at this moment in the narrative.

The phrase suggests reiteration of instruction: when duties recur, guidance and discernment must also be renewed. It reflects the Purāṇic theme that right action (dharma) often requires repeated counsel and correction.
