FAQs

Touching the feet signifies humility, reverence, and seeking blessings—often directed toward a revered person such as a husband, elder, teacher, or spiritually senior figure.

The refusal to depart “without you” expresses dependence, loyalty, and heartfelt attachment—emotional registers that also appear in devotional (bhakti) literature as steadfastness toward the beloved or revered.

It highlights commitment and respect within relationships: reverence shown through traditional gestures, and solidarity expressed through not abandoning the other person and offering physical support.
