FAQs

It refers to the pressed residue (oil-cake) of iṅgudī seeds—an item of food or offering obtained after extracting oil, commonly noted in older ritual and subsistence contexts.

The verse functions as an inventory-style description, emphasizing abundance and variety of available provisions—fruits (badara, āmalaka, coconut) and many types of roots/tubers.

In Purāṇic contexts, such enumerations often underline simplicity and sufficiency—valuing readily available natural produce for sustenance or offering rather than luxury.
