Unspecified narrator addressing a king (nṛpa) within the Adhyāya’s dialogue context

Concept: Cosmic durations are not vague myth but enumerated measures; the Purāṇa asserts calculable order in the universe.

Application: Value discipline and accurate timing in sādhana—regularity in japa, pūjā, and vrata observance mirrors cosmic regularity.

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A sage points to a vast celestial ledger where numbers glow like constellations—‘52,000 more’ and ‘thirty crores’ appear as luminous script across a starry scroll. The king listens in awe as the numbers transform into a river of light flowing into a great wheel of time.","primary_figures":["sage-narrator","king (nṛpa)","personified Time-wheel (symbolic)"],"setting":"Hermitage terrace opening into a star-filled sky; a floating cosmic manuscript/scroll","lighting_mood":"moonlit","color_palette":["midnight blue","silver","pale gold","smoky teal","white"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: sage and king seated on ornate platforms, a floating scroll with glowing numerals and a gold-leaf time-chakra; rich maroons and greens, heavy gold embellishment on the chakra and script borders, jewel-toned ornaments.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: intimate dialogue scene with delicate lines; the sky filled with fine calligraphy-like numerals forming constellations; cool nocturnal palette, gentle gradients, refined expressions of wonder.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlined figures, stylized scroll with large numerals, circular time-chakra dominating the upper register; traditional pigment palette, symmetrical composition like a temple panel.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: numbers rendered as decorative motifs within lotus medallions; a central time-wheel surrounded by floral borders; deep blue ground with gold and white detailing, textile-like repetition and symmetry."}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: dvipaṃcāśat = dvi-pañcāśat; tathānyāni = tathā + anyāni; sahasrāṇyadhikāni = sahasrāṇi + adhikāni; triṃśatkoṭyastu = triṃśat-koṭyaḥ + tu (koṭyaḥ + tu → koṭyastu).

FAQs

It provides a numerical total after adding an additional fifty-two thousand, stating a final complete count of thirty crores, addressed to a king.

Not directly; it is primarily an enumerative/cosmological statement, though such counts often support broader Purāṇic descriptions of creation and sacred order.

It emphasizes clarity and precision in accounting—presenting a finalized total after additions—reflecting the Purāṇic tendency to systematize vast subjects through orderly enumeration.
