Narrator (contextual speaker not specified in the provided excerpt)

Concept: Cosmic society is ordered into functional classes—gods, demons, ancestors, humans—each with roles; creation is iterative and purposeful.

Application: Respect pitṛ obligations (śrāddha), uphold human dharma, and recognize that opposing forces (deva/asura) also serve cosmic balance; begin projects with clarity of roles.

FAQs

It summarizes a cosmological sequence: Prajāpati (identified here with Pitāmaha/Brahmā) creates multiple classes of beings—devas, asuras, Pitṛs, and humans—and then proceeds with further creation at the start of a kalpa.

Pitāmaha (“Grandfather”) is a common epithet for Brahmā, the progenitor figure associated with initiating creation at the beginning of each kalpa.

‘Kalpādau’ means “at the beginning of the kalpa,” indicating cyclical cosmic time: creation is renewed in each aeon, and Brahmā’s creative activity is framed as recurring rather than a single, linear event.
