“Pitāmaha” (“Grandfather”) is a common epithet for Brahmā, regarded as the progenitor of beings and thus a ‘grandfather’ figure in Purāṇic cosmology.
The verse highlights disciplined cooperation and accountability—accepting a higher directive and committing to carry it out fully.
In context and tone, it primarily reflects obedience to cosmic order (ājñā/śāsana) and duty within creation narratives, rather than explicit devotional (bhakti) instruction.
