FAQs

Pitāmaha (“Grandfather”) is a well-known epithet of Brahmā, the cosmic creator, often addressed respectfully by gods and divine beings.

The verse presents a duty-based ethic: forces that obstruct righteous action and cosmic order are to be restrained or removed, while the virtuous are assured safety and auspiciousness.

Creation narratives in the Sṛṣṭikhaṇḍa commonly include the safeguarding of the creative order; here, the promise to destroy obstacle-makers functions as protection of the unfolding cosmic process.
