Narrator (textual voice); the action describes the gods addressing Brahmā

Concept: When adharma (tyranny, misuse of boons) overwhelms, even the mighty must seek higher counsel; humility and truthful reporting are steps toward restoration of cosmic order.

Application: Name problems clearly, without exaggeration; seek wise counsel early; accept accountability for defeat without collapsing into despair.

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"In Brahmā’s luminous hall, the devas stand with lowered crowns, their faces shadowed by defeat. A painted vision of Daśagrīva’s terror—ten heads like storm-clouds—seems to loom behind their words as they recount their humiliation. Brahmā listens, grave and still, lotus-seat steady amid the tremor of crisis.","primary_figures":["Brahmā","Indra","Devas (collective)","Rāvaṇa (as an implied/visionary presence)"],"setting":"Brahmā’s celestial sabhā with lotus motifs, swan emblems, and scrolls of cosmic law; a faint, ominous backdrop suggesting Laṅkā’s power.","lighting_mood":"temple lamp-lit","color_palette":["burnished gold","smoky violet","ash gray","crimson","pale lotus white"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Brahmā on a lotus throne with gold leaf aura, devas in subdued posture offering a petition, ornamental pillars and arch, a stylized inset vignette of ten-headed Rāvaṇa in darker tones, rich reds and greens with heavy gilding and gem-like highlights.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: intimate court scene with delicate expressions of worry, Brahmā calm and contemplative, devas clustered with folded hands, a faint watercolor-like silhouette of Rāvaṇa behind them, cool purples and soft gold washes, fine floral border.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: strong outlines, Brahmā frontal with iconic eyes, devas arranged in rhythmic bands, a dramatic dark-toned Rāvaṇa motif at the edge, earthy reds/yellows/greens with black contouring, mural-panel symmetry.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: central lotus-throne of Brahmā framed by ornate floral borders, devas as patterned figures in reverent lines, a stylized ten-headed motif woven into the border like a warning emblem, deep blues and gold with intricate textile-like detailing."}

FAQs

Daśagrīva (“ten-necked”) is a common epithet of Rāvaṇa, the powerful rākṣasa king whose actions cause suffering to the gods.

The gods approach Brahmā and formally report the oppression and trouble caused by Rāvaṇa, along with their own defeat.

When adharma becomes oppressive, even powerful beings seek counsel from a higher, principled authority; the verse sets up a restoration of order through rightful guidance.
