FAQs

It recommends fasting (upavāsa), keeping a night vigil (jāgaraṇa), arranging a grand decoration for the worship space, and offering tulasī leaves in the worship of Hari.

Tulasī is singled out as a prized offering in Hari/Viṣṇu worship, indicating that devotion expressed through tulasī-leaf offerings is especially approved in Vaiṣṇava practice.

The verse emphasizes disciplined devotion—self-restraint through fasting, attentiveness through vigil, and reverent care through decoration and proper offerings—as a way to honor Viṣṇu sincerely.
