A foremost mountain (giriśreṣṭha) is described as radiant—covered with many jewels and gold—shining like the sun with its own rays.
The sun is a standard Purāṇic simile for self-luminous brilliance; the mountain’s jewel-and-gold radiance is portrayed as similarly overwhelming and all-pervading.
The verse uses splendor as a contemplative device: just as true radiance is unmistakable (like the sun), sacred places and elevated realities are depicted as naturally illuminating, drawing attention toward dharma and reverence.
