yato niḥsādhano dharmaḥ parimāṇojjhitā ratiḥ dhanaṃ jīvitaparyāptaṃ patyau nāryāḥ pratiṣṭhitam //

เพราะหากปราศจากปัจจัยอันเหมาะสม ธรรมะย่อมไม่สำเร็จ; ความรักใคร่ (รติ) ที่ไร้ความพอดีย่อมนำความพินาศ; และทรัพย์ที่พอแก่การดำรงชีพ—คือความคุ้มครองและเกียรติของสตรี—ย่อมตั้งมั่นอยู่ที่สามี
