Matsya Purana — Pitṛ Worlds, Shloka 30

तेभ्य एव पुनः प्राप्तुं प्रसादाद्योगसंततिम् पितॄणामादिसर्गे तु श्राद्धमेव विनिर्मितम् //

tebhya eva punaḥ prāptuṃ prasādādyogasaṃtatim pitṝṇāmādisarge tu śrāddhameva vinirmitam //

เพื่อจะได้บรรลุความสืบเนื่องแห่งความสำเร็จทางโยคะอีกครั้งด้วยพระกรุณาของท่านเหล่านั้น ในกาลเริ่มแรกแห่งการสร้างสรรค์ จึงได้สถาปนาพิธีศราทธะ (Śrāddha) สำหรับปิตฤ (Pitṛ)
