Matsya Purana — Navagraha Sacrifice for Planetary Pacification and Prosperity
hutvā ca tāṃścarūnsamyak tato homaṃ samācaret ākṛṣṇeti ca sūryāya homaḥ kāryo dvijanmanā //
This verse is not about pralaya; it prescribes a precise ritual sequence—first offering the caru oblations, then performing a Sūrya-directed homa with a specified mantra incipit.
It frames disciplined ritual action as dharma: a qualified ‘dvija’ (including householders among the twice-born) should perform ordered homa rites, reflecting daily/occasional obligations and purity of procedure.
The significance is ritual (not architectural): it stresses correct sequencing (caru first, homa next) and mantra-specific offering to Sūrya—key for accurate homa performance in Purāṇic ritual manuals.
