विराटने पूछा--यदि ये कुरुकुलके रत्न कुन्तीनन्दन राजा युधिष्ठिर हैं, तो इनमें कौन इनके भाई अर्जुन हैं? कौन महाबली भीम हैं? नकुल, सहदेव तथा यशस्विनी द्रौपदी कौन हैं? जबसे कुन्तीपुत्र जूएमें हार गये, तबसे उनका कहीं भी पता नहीं लगा
virāṭa uvāca— yadi ete kurukulasyā ratnāḥ kuntīnandanaḥ rājā yudhiṣṭhiraḥ, tarhi eṣu kaḥ tasya bhrātā arjunaḥ? kaḥ mahābalī bhīmaḥ? nakulaḥ sahadevaś ca tathā yaśasvinī draupadī kaḥ? yato hi kuntīputrā dyūte parājitāḥ, tataḥ prabhṛti teṣāṃ kvāpi na vārttā labhyate.
วิราฏตรัสว่า “หากในหมู่คนเหล่านี้ ผู้เป็นรัตนะแห่งวงศ์กุรุคือพระเจ้ายุธิษฐิระ โอรสกุนตีจริง แล้วผู้ใดเล่าคืออรชุนผู้เป็นอนุชา? ผู้ใดคือภีมผู้มีกำลังมหาศาล? นกุล สหเทวะ และนางเทราปทีผู้มีเกียรติยศเป็นใคร? นับแต่บุตรแห่งกุนตีพ่ายในการพนันสกา ก็ไร้ข่าวคราวของพวกเขาทุกแห่งหน”
