पाण्डवपरिचयः—विराटसभायां प्रकाशनम्

न त्वेष बीभत्सुरलं नृशंसं कर्तु न पापे5स्य मनो विशिष्टम्
na tveṣa bībhatsur alaṁ nṛśaṁsaṁ kartuṁ na pāpe 'sya mano viśiṣṭam
ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “แต่อรชุน (บีภัตสุ) มิใช่ผู้จะกระทำการอำมหิตไร้มนุษยธรรม จิตของเขามิได้โน้มไปสู่บาป แม้เพื่ออธิปไตยเหนือไตรโลก เขาก็มิละทิ้งธรรมของตน นั่นแลเป็นเหตุที่ในศึกครั้งนี้เขามิได้ปลิดชีพพวกเราทั้งหมด โอ้วีรบุรุษผู้เลิศแห่งวงศ์กุรุ จงรีบกลับสู่แคว้นกุรุเถิด; ส่วนปารถะก็จะกลับมาเมื่อชนะและนำโคคืนได้แล้ว จงระวังอย่าให้ด้วยความหลง ผลประโยชน์ของตนพินาศไป ควรกระทำแต่กิจที่นำมาซึ่งความผาสุก”
