Educational Q&A

The verse frames political action within dharma: even when seeking control over another party, it should be done nyāyataḥ—by lawful, just, and ethically defensible means—so that stability and collective welfare (ease, security, and increased strength) follow.

Vaiśampāyana reports a plan or assurance: if a certain person (contextually connected with Virāṭa) is brought under rightful control, the speakers expect to live securely, and the addressed group’s military strength will grow as a consequence.
