Educational Q&A

The verse highlights pragmatic dharma in adversity: maintaining one’s mission and safety through a socially acceptable role, while seeking dignity and lawful access to sustenance rather than exploitation.

During the incognito year in Virāṭa’s kingdom, Bhīma describes the status he expects in the royal household: other servants will treat him with high regard, and he will have authority to use food and drink provisions as needed.
