स्त्रीणां चित्तं च दुर्ज्ञेयं युक्तरूपौ च मे मतौ । सैरन्ध्री प्रियसंवासान्नित्यं ककणवादिनी,'स्त्रियोंक हृदयको समझ लेना बहुत कठिन है, हमें तो यह जोड़ी अच्छी जान पड़ती है। सैरन्ध्री अपने प्रिय सम्बन्धके कारण जब रसोइयेको हाथी आदिसे लड़ानेकी बात की जाती है, तब (अत्यन्त दीन-सी होकर) सदा करुणायुक्त वचन बोलने लगती है

strīṇāṃ cittaṃ ca durjñeyaṃ yuktarūpau ca me matau | sairandhrī priyasaṃvāsān nityaṃ kakaṇavādinī ||

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า—“จิตใจของสตรีนั้นยากหยั่งรู้ยิ่ง; แต่ในความเห็นของเรา ทั้งคู่นี้ดูเหมาะสมกัน นางไซรันธรีเพราะความผูกพันจากการอยู่ใกล้ชิดกับผู้เป็นที่รัก จึงกล่าวถ้อยคำอ่อนหวานปนเวทนาอยู่เสมอ”
