द्रौपद्याः शोकवचनम्

Draupadī’s Lament and Indictment of Misfortune

तत्‌ कर्म कृतवानद्य कथं निद्रां निषेवसे । वहाँ पहुँचते ही सैरन्ध्री बोली--आर्यपुत्र! मुझसे द्वेष रखनेवाले उस महापापी सेनापतिके, जिसने मेरे साथ वैसा अपमानजनक बर्ताव किया था, जीते-जी तुम आज नींद कैसे ले रहे हो?

tat karma kṛtavān adya kathaṃ nidrāṃ niṣevase |

ครั้นไปถึง สैรन्ध्रीก็กล่าวว่า—“โอ อารยบุตร! แม่ทัพผู้มหาบาปนั้น ผู้ชิงชังเราและได้กระทำการหมิ่นประมาทต่อเราเช่นนั้น ยังมีชีวิตอยู่; แล้ววันนี้เมื่อได้ทำการนั้นแล้ว เหตุใดท่านจึงยังเอนกายสู่การหลับใหลได้?”
