Adhyāya 14: Sudēṣṇā Sends Sairandhrī to Kīcaka’s House (सुदेष्णा–सैरन्ध्री–कीचक संवादः)

नार्हस्येवं वरारोहे प्रत्याख्यातुं वरानने । मां मन्मथसमादविष्ट॑ त्वत्कृते चारुहासिनि,“वरारोहे! सुमुखि! तुम्हें इस प्रकार मेरी प्रार्थना नहीं ठुकरानी चाहिये! चारुहासिनि! मैं तुम्हारे लिये कामवेदनासे पीड़ित हूँ

na arhasi evaṃ varārohe pratyākhyātuṃ varānane | māṃ manmatha-samādaviṣṭaṃ tvat-kṛte cāru-hāsini ||

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “โอสตรีผู้ทรงศักดิ์ผู้ก้าวย่างงาม โอผู้มีพักตร์งดงาม เจ้าไม่ควรปฏิเสธคำวิงวอนของข้าเช่นนี้ โอผู้ยิ้มหวาน เพราะเจ้านั่นเองข้าจึงถูกแรงเร้ากามราคะครอบงำ”
