स पितृस्तर्पयामास देवांश्व॒ परमद्युतिः । ऋषींश्व॒ तर्पपामास विधिदृष्टेन कर्मणा,परम तेजस्वी भीष्मजीने वहाँ शास्त्रीय विधिके अनुसार देवताओं, ऋषियों तथा पितरोंका तर्पण किया
sa pitṝs tarpayāmāsa devāṁś ca paramadyutiḥ | ṛṣīṁś ca tarpayāmāsa vidhidṛṣṭena karmaṇā ||
ภีษมผู้รุ่งเรืองยิ่ง ได้ประกอบพิธีตัรปณะตามบทบัญญัติแห่งศาสตรา ถวายน้ำบูชาแก่ปิตฤทั้งหลาย และเช่นเดียวกันแก่เทพและฤๅษีทั้งปวง โดยดำเนินตามระเบียบพิธีอันถูกต้อง
