Educational Q&A

The verse highlights practical dharma in everyday life: one should seek clarity about one’s route and circumstances, and those responsible (like a caravan-leader) have an ethical duty to inform and guide, especially when someone is dependent on their protection.

A woman (contextually, Damayantī) encounters a group of merchants with their caravan-leader and asks them where the caravan is headed, requesting a clear account of their destination.
