तामुवाचानवद्याज़ीं सार्थस्य महतः प्रभु: । सार्थवाह: शुचिर्नाम शृणु कल्याणि मद्गच:,उस महान्‌ समूहका मालिक और समस्त यात्रीदलका संचालक (वणिक्‌) शुचिनामसे प्रसिद्ध था। उसने उस सुन्दरीसे कहा--“कल्याणि! मेरी बात सुनो'--

tām uvāca anavadyāṅgīṃ sārthasya mahataḥ prabhuḥ | sārthavāhaḥ śucir nāma śṛṇu kalyāṇi madgiraḥ ||

ครั้นแล้วหัวหน้าคาราวานใหญ่ ผู้เป็นพ่อค้าชื่อ ‘ศุจิ’ ผู้บริสุทธิ์ในความประพฤติ ได้กล่าวแก่หญิงสาวผู้ไร้มลทินว่า “โอ้ผู้เป็นมงคล จงฟังถ้อยคำของเรา”
