ततः संवत्सरे पूर्णो यदासौ जपतां वर: । नापश्यद् दुष्कृतं किंचित् पृथाया: सौहृदे रत:
tataḥ saṃvatsare pūrṇe yadāsau japatāṃ varaḥ | nāpaśyad duṣkṛtaṃ kiṃcit pṛthāyāḥ sauhṛde rataḥ ||
ครั้นเมื่อกาลล่วงครบหนึ่งปีแล้ว พราหมณ์ผู้นั้น—ผู้เลิศในหมู่ผู้ประกอบชปะและภาวนา และตั้งมั่นในไมตรีและความปรารถนาดีต่อปฤถา (กุนตี)—ก็มิได้พบความผิดหรือการกระทำอันชั่วแม้แต่น้อยในนางเลย
