Educational Q&A

As a colophon, the line signals the didactic intent of the surrounding narrative: the Sāvitrī episode is presented within a section that extols pativratā-dharma—steadfastness, fidelity, and ethical resolve as spiritually potent virtues.

This is an end-of-chapter marker stating the textual location: in the Mahābhārata’s Vana Parva, within the Pativratā-māhātmya section, the Sāvitrī sub-tale reaches the end of the chapter (counted here as the 293rd).
