Adhyāya 290: Kuntī’s Mantra-Parīkṣā and the Appearance of Sūrya (कुन्ती–सूर्यसंवादः)
त॑ लक्ष्मणो5 भ्यधावच्च प्रगृह्म सशरं धनु: । त्रासयंस्तलघोषेण सिंह: क्षुद्रमूगान् यथा,तब लक्ष्मण भी धनुषपर बाण चढ़ाये हुए उसकी ओर बड़े वेगसे दौड़े और सिंह जैसे छोटे मृगोंको डरा देता है, उसी प्रकार वे अपने धनुषकी टंकारसे सब राक्षसोंको त्रास देने लगे
taṁ lakṣmaṇo 'bhyadhāvac ca pragṛhya saśaraṁ dhanuḥ | trāsayaṁs talaghoṣeṇa siṁhaḥ kṣudramṛgān yathā ||
ครั้นแล้วลักษมณะก็พุ่งเข้าหาเขาโดยตรง จับคันศรที่ขึ้นศรไว้แล้ว และด้วยเสียงสะบัดสายศรอันกึกก้อง เขาทำให้พวกยักษ์หวาดผวา ดุจสิงห์ข่มขวัญสัตว์น้อยทั้งหลาย
