Indrajit’s Binding, Restoration by Viśalyā, and Counsel Restraining Rāvaṇa (Āraṇyaka Parva 273)
rājānaṃ cābravīd bhīmo draupadyāḥ kathyatām iti | dāsabhāvagato hy eṣa pāṇḍūnāṃ pāpacetanaḥ ||
Wrongdoing against the vulnerable—especially an affront to Draupadī’s dignity—demands not only punishment but also public acknowledgment of justice. Bhīma’s demand that Draupadī be informed emphasizes restoration of honor and accountability of the offender.
After Jayadratha’s offense against Draupadī, Bhīma addresses the king and orders that Draupadī be told the offender has been reduced to servitude under the Pāṇḍavas—signaling their victory and the formal subjugation of the wrongdoer.
