दृश्यन्ते शान्तरजस: क्षपा जलदशीतला: । ग्रहनक्षत्रसड्घैश्व॒ सोमेन च विराजिता:,उस समयकी रातें धूलरहित एवं निर्मल दिखायी देती थीं। बादलोंके समान उनमें शीतलता थी। ग्रहों और नक्षत्रोंके समुदाय तथा चन्द्रमा उनकी शोभा बढ़ाते थे
dṛśyante śānta-rajasaḥ kṣapā jalada-śītalāḥ | graha-nakṣatra-saṅghaiś ca somena ca virājitāḥ ||
ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า—ราตรีในกาลนั้นแลดูใสสะอาด ปราศจากฝุ่นธุลี เย็นดุจเมฆฝน อันประดับด้วยหมู่ดาวเคราะห์และดารานพเคราะห์ทั้งหลาย และยิ่งงามสง่าด้วยแสงจันทร์.
