Bhīma–Hanūmān Dialogue on Yugas (युगवर्णनम्)
हनुमानजी बोले--शत्रुदमन पाण्डुनन्दन! तुम्हारे मनमें मेरा परिचय प्राप्त करनेके लिये जो कौतूहल हो रहा है उसकी शान्तिके लिये सब बातें विस्तारपूर्वक सुनो ।। अहं केसरिण: क्षेत्र वायुना जगदायुषा । जात: कमलपत्राक्ष हनूमान् नाम वानर:,कमलनयन भीम! मैं वानरश्रेष्ठ केसरीके क्षेत्रमें जगतके प्राणस्वरूप वायुदेवसे उत्पन्न हुआ हूँ। मेरा नाम हनुमान् वानर है
hanūmān uvāca—śatrudamana pāṇḍunandana! tava manasi mama paricayaṃ prāptuṃ yat kautūhalaṃ vartate, tasya śāntyai sarvāḥ kathā vistareṇa śṛṇu. ahaṃ kesariṇaḥ kṣetre vāyunā jagadāyuṣā jātaḥ, kamalapatrākṣa hanūmān nāma vānaraḥ.
หนุมานกล่าวว่า “โอ้ผู้ปราบศัตรู โอ้โอรสแห่งปาณฑุ เพื่อให้ความใคร่รู้ในใจเจ้าสงบลง จงฟังโดยพิสดารเถิด โอ้ภีมะผู้มีเนตรดุจกลีบบัว เราเกิดในแดนของเกศรี ผู้เป็นยอดแห่งวานร โดยวายุเทพผู้เป็นลมหายใจแห่งโลกเป็นผู้ให้กำเนิด นามของเราคือ หนุมาน ผู้เป็นประธานในหมู่วานร”
