दीप्यमानेन वपुषा स्वर्चिष्मन्तमिवानलम् | निरीक्षन्तममित्रघ्नं लोचनैर्मधुपिड्रलै:
dīpyamānena vapuṣā svarciṣmantam ivānalam | nirīkṣantam amitraghnaṃ locanair madhupiṅgalaiḥ ||

वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse suggests that steadfast inner power and righteous intent can appear outwardly as radiance—an ethical ideal in epic literature where virtue, courage, and resolve are portrayed as visibly transformative and socially consequential.
Vaiśampāyana describes a warrior-figure called “Amitraghna” being observed: his body shines like a blazing fire, and he looks on with honey-brown eyes, emphasizing his formidable, awe-inspiring presence.
