Cyavana’s Tapas, Sukanyā’s Curiosity, and Śaryāti’s Appeasement (च्यवन-सुकन्या-उपाख्यान आरम्भ)

सा वै वसुमतीं तत्र पश्यन्ती सुमनोरमाम्‌ । वनस्पतीन्‌ विचिन्वन्ती विजहार सखीवृता,वहाँकी भूमि उसे बड़ी मनोहर दिखायी दी। वह सखियोंके साथ वृक्षोंके फल-फूल तोड़ती हुई चारों ओर घूमने लगी

sā vai vasumatīṃ tatra paśyantī sumanoramām | vanaspatīn vicinvantī vijahāra sakhīvṛtā ||

ณ ที่นั้นนางเห็นพื้นพิภพงดงามยิ่งนัก จึงมีสหายหญิงรายล้อม เที่ยวสำราญไปพลาง เก็บดอกไม้และผลไม้จากพฤกษาในป่าไปพลาง
