Cyavana’s Tapas, Sukanyā’s Curiosity, and Śaryāti’s Appeasement (च्यवन-सुकन्या-उपाख्यान आरम्भ)
अग्नीनामतिथीनां च शुश्रूषुरनसूयिका । समाराधयत क्षिप्रं च्यवनं सा शुभानना,सुमुखी सुकन्या किसीके गुणोंमें दोष नहीं देखती थी। वह त्रिविध अग्नियों और अतिथियोंकी सेवामें तत्पर हो शीघ्र ही महर्षि च्यवनकी आराधनामें लग गयी
agnīnām atithīnām ca śuśrūṣur anasūyikā | samārādhayat kṣipraṁ cyavanaṁ sā śubhānanā, sumukhī sukanyā ||
สุกัญญาผู้มีพักตร์งาม มิได้เพ่งโทษผู้ใด นางขยันปรนนิบัติไฟศักดิ์สิทธิ์และต้อนรับแขกผู้มาเยือน ด้วยเหตุนี้นางจึงบำเรอและทำให้พระฤๅษีจยวนพอพระทัยโดยเร็ว
