भूगुरुवाच ऋतौ त्वं चैव माता च स्नाते पुंसवनाय वै । आलिड्रेतां पृथग वृक्षौ साश्व॒त्थं त्वमुदुम्बरम्‌,भगुजी बोले--बहू! ऋतुकालमें स्नान करनेके पश्चात्‌ तुम और तुम्हारी माता पुत्र- प्राप्तिके उद्देश्यसे दो भिन्न-भिन्न वृक्षोंका आलिंगन करो। तुम्हारी माता तो पीपलका और तुम गूलरका आलिंगन करना

Bhṛgur uvāca—ṛtau tvaṃ caiva mātā ca snāte puṃsavanāya vai | āliḍretāṃ pṛthag vṛkṣau sāśvatthaṃ tvam udumbaram ||

พระภฤคุตรัสว่า “เมื่อถึงกาลแห่งการปฏิสนธิ เจ้ากับมารดาจงอาบน้ำแล้วตั้งจิตเพื่อได้บุตร จากนั้นจงโอบกอดต้นไม้คนละต้น มารดาของเจ้าจงกอดต้นอัศวัตถะ ส่วนเจ้าจงกอดต้นอุทุมพร”
