The episode frames a sacred event within dharma: even divine forces (like Gaṅgā’s overwhelming descent) are harmonized into social and moral order through rightful recognition and responsible kingship—symbolized by the king’s formal acceptance of Gaṅgā as ‘daughter’ and her proper course to the ocean.
Gaṅgā, flowing with great force, reaches and fills the ocean (Varuṇa’s abode). The king then ritually/socially acknowledges her as his daughter, marking the completion of her journey and the establishment of her place within the world’s ordained order.
