Dharma-bearing authority responds to sincere, respectful approach with grace; a boon is presented as a morally grounded gift, implying that power (to grant boons) is ideally exercised under dharma.
Kapila becomes pleased with Aṁśumān and tells him that he is prepared to grant a boon, marking a turning point where Aṁśumān’s quest can be fulfilled through Kapila’s favor.
