उदतिष्ठत् सहामात्य: पूजयन् मधुसूदनम् । दशाहनन्दन श्रीकृष्णके आते ही महायशस्वी दुर्योधन मधुसूदनका सम्मान करते हुए मन्त्रियोंसहित उठकर खड़ा हो गया
udatiṣṭhat sahāmātyaḥ pūjayan madhusūdanam |
ครั้นเมื่อพระศรีกฤษณะเสด็จมาถึง ทุรโยธนะ โอรสผู้ทรงเกียรติแห่งธฤตราษฏระ ก็ลุกขึ้นยืนพร้อมด้วยเสนาบดีทั้งหลาย แสดงความเคารพถวายแด่มธุสูทนะ
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical contrast between external respect and internal intention: proper royal etiquette and honoring a revered guest can coexist with unresolved adharma and stubbornness. It invites reflection on whether courtesy without moral correction has real value in preventing harm.
