वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse frames righteous indignation as a response to perceived injustice: the speaker asks Kṛṣṇa to turn his full force against the Dhārtarāṣṭras, implying that divine favor and compassion may manifest as firm opposition to adharma rather than mere gentleness.
In the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war setting, tensions between the Pāṇḍavas and Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s sons are escalating. The line, reported by Vaiśampāyana, conveys an appeal to Kṛṣṇa to take a decisive stance against the Dhārtarāṣṭras, reflecting the hardening of positions as diplomacy strains.
