Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how the momentum toward war is driven not only by ideology but by concrete choices—seeking allies and accepting military support. Ethically, it points to the responsibility that comes with mobilizing force: alliances can amplify adharma or uphold dharma depending on the cause they serve.

Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s son (Duryodhana) goes to Kṛtavarmā to secure support. Kṛtavarmā responds by giving him an akṣauhiṇī, a full contingent of troops, strengthening the Kaurava war preparations.
