Dhṛtarāṣṭra–Duryodhana Dialogue on Peace and the Refusal of Compromise

येषु सम्प्रतितिष्ठेयु: कुरव: पीडिता: परै: । ते युद्ध नाभिनन्दन्ति तत्‌ तुभ्यं तात रोचताम्‌,शत्रुओंसे पीड़ित होनेपर कौरवसैनिक जिनके आश्रयमें खड़े हो सकते हैं, वे ही लोग युद्धका अनुमोदन नहीं कर रहे हैं। तात! उनके इस विचारको तुम्हें भी पसंद करना चाहिये

yeṣu sampratitiṣṭheyuḥ kuravaḥ pīḍitāḥ paraiḥ | te yuddhaṃ nābhinandanti tat tubhyaṃ tāta rocatām ||

ผู้ที่เหล่ากุรุ เมื่อถูกศัตรูกดขี่ ยังอาจยืนหยัดพึ่งพาได้—คนเหล่านั้นเองกลับไม่สรรเสริญสงคราม เพราะฉะนั้น ลูกเอ๋ย จงยอมรับดุลยพินิจของพวกเขาด้วย
