Dhṛtarāṣṭra–Duryodhana Dialogue on Peace and the Refusal of Compromise
त्यक्त मे जीवितं राज्यं धनं सर्व च पार्थिव । न जातु पाण्डवै: सार्थ वसेयमहमच्युत,राज्यच्युत न होनेवाले महाराज! मैं जीवन, राज्य, धन--सब कुछ छोड़ सकता हूँ, परंतु पाण्डवोंके साथ मिलकर कदापि नहीं रह सकता
tyaktaṁ me jīvitaṁ rājyaṁ dhanaṁ sarvaṁ ca pārthiva | na jātu pāṇḍavaiḥ sārthaṁ vaseyam aham acyuta ||
ข้าแต่มหาราช! ข้าพเจ้าสามารถสละได้แม้ชีวิต ราชอาณาจักร และทรัพย์สมบัติทั้งปวง; แต่ข้าพเจ้าจะไม่ยอมอยู่ร่วมอย่างปรองดองกับเหล่าปาณฑพ ไม่ว่าในกรณีใดก็ตาม
