अनयो योड्यमागन्ता पुत्राणां ते दुरात्मनाम् । तदस्य कर्म जानीहि सूतपुत्रस्य दुर्मते:,“तुम्हारे दुरात्मा पुत्रोंपर अन्यायके फलस्वरूप जो यह महान् संकट आनेवाला है, वह सब इस दूषित बुद्धिवाले सूतपुत्र कर्णकी ही करतूत समझो
anayo yodhyam āgantā putrāṇāṃ te durātmanām | tadasya karma jānīhi sūtaputrasya durmateḥ ||
มหันตภัยที่กำลังจะบังเกิดแก่บุตรผู้มีใจชั่วของท่าน อันเป็นผลแห่งความอยุติธรรม—จงรู้เถิดว่า นั่นคือการกระทำของกรรณะ บุตรแห่งสารถี ผู้มีจิตคิดคดมัวหมอง
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Injustice (anaya) generates inevitable consequences: when leaders tolerate or promote wrongdoing, the resulting catastrophe is not accidental but traceable to specific choices and agents—here, Karṇa is singled out as a principal instigator whose unethical counsel/actions help bring war upon the Kauravas.
In the pre-war deliberations of the Udyoga Parva, Vaiśampāyana narrates that a great conflict is imminent for the Kaurava princes. He attributes the approaching disaster, arising from their injustice toward the Pāṇḍavas, to the influence and deeds of Karṇa, described pointedly as ‘sūtaputra’ and ‘durmati’.
