यदा शिखण्डी रथिन: प्रचिन्वन् भीष्म रथेनाभियाता वरूथी । दिव्यैहयैरवमृद्नन् रथौघां- स्तदा युद्ध धार्तराष्ट्रोडन्वतप्स्यत्
sañjaya uvāca | yadā śikhaṇḍī rathinaḥ pracinvan bhīṣma-rathenābhiyātā varūthī | divyair hayair avamṛdnan rathaughāṃs tadā yuddhe dhārtarāṣṭro ’nvatapsyat ||
สัญชัยกล่าวว่า—เมื่อศิขัณฑี ผู้มีรถศึกพร้อมเครื่องคุ้มกันมั่นคง เคลื่อนรถเข้าประจัญภีษมะ เลือกสังหารนักรบรถศึกทีละคน และใช้ม้าอันเป็นทิพย์เหยียบย่ำกองรถศึกให้แหลก ครั้นนั้นโอรสแห่งธฤตราษฏระคือทุรโยธน์จักถูกความสำนึกผิดอันขมขื่นครอบงำ เพราะสงครามที่ตนก่อได้เริ่มกลืนกินทุกสิ่งแล้ว
