यदा गतोद्वाहमकूजनाक्षं सुवर्णतारं रथमुत्तमाश्वै: । दान्तैर्युक्ते सहदेवो5थिरूढ: शिरांसि राज्ञां क्षेप्स्यते मार्गणौचै:
sañjaya uvāca | yadā gatodvāham akūjanākṣaṃ suvarṇatāraṃ ratham uttamāśvaiḥ | dāntair yukte sahadevo 'thirūḍhaḥ śirāṃsi rājñāṃ kṣepsyate mārgaṇair ucchaiḥ ||
สัญชัยกล่าวว่า: เมื่อสหเทวะขึ้นสู่รถศึกนั้น—เทียมด้วยม้าเลิศที่ฝึกดีและเชื่อง วิ่งไปตามใจสารถี แกนล้อไร้เสียง และเมื่อหมุนวนแลดูประหนึ่งรอยวงกลมสีทอง—แล้วแผลงศรขึ้นสูง ตัดเศียรบรรดากษัตริย์ฝ่ายตรงข้ามให้ร่วงลง; ในยามอันน่าสะพรึงนั้น เมื่อสหเทวะยืนหยัดในสมรภูมิและเข้าตีศัตรูทุกทิศทุกทาง ทุรโยธนะโอรสแห่งธฤตราษฏระจะถูกความสำนึกผิดอันลึกซึ้งครอบงำ เมื่อคำนึงถึงผลแห่งสงครามนี้
