उद्योगपर्व — अध्याय 33: धृतराष्ट्र-विदुर संवादः (विदुरनीतिः)
गतिरात्मवतां सन्त: सन््त एव सतां गति: । असतां च गति: सन््तो न त्वसन्त: सतां गति:
gatir ātmavatāṃ santaḥ santa eva satāṃ gatiḥ | asatāṃ ca gatiḥ santo na tv asantaḥ satāṃ gatiḥ ||
ที่พึ่งของผู้สำรวมตนคือคนดี และที่พึ่งของคนดีก็มีแต่คนดีเท่านั้น แม้คนชั่วก็ยังได้อาศัยคนดีเป็นที่พึ่ง แต่คนชั่วไม่เคยเป็นที่พึ่งแก่คนดี
