Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how collective excitement and martial signaling can sweep through an army; ethically, it frames the war as a public, ritualized undertaking where instruments like conches and drums announce resolve and readiness, reminding readers that mass emotion powerfully shapes human action.

As the conflict nears, vast numbers of men on the battlefield joyfully sound thousands of drums and tens of thousands of conches, creating a thunderous proclamation of mobilization and impending combat.
