अम्बायाः तपोदीक्षा–रुद्रवर–आत्मदाहः

ततस्ता राजशार्दूल धात्र्यो दाशार्णिकास्तदा । जम्मुरार्ति परां प्रेष्या: प्रेषयामासुरेव च,नृपश्रेष्ठ! यह सुनकर दशार्णदेशकी धायोंको बड़ा दुःख हुआ। उन्होंने यह समाचार सूचित करनेके लिये बहुत-सी दासियोंको दशार्णराजके यहाँ भेजा

tatas tā rājarṣabha dhātryo dāśārṇikās tadā | jamburārtim parāṁ preṣyāḥ preṣayāmāsur eva ca ||

ข้าแต่มหาบพิตรผู้ประเสริฐ เมื่อได้ยินดังนั้น เหล่าแม่นมแห่งแคว้นทศารณ์ก็โศกเศร้าอย่างยิ่ง และเพื่อทูลแจ้งข่าวนี้ จึงส่งนางข้าหลวงจำนวนมากไปยังพระราชาแห่งทศารณ์
